DECISION
No 1945-N of 25 December 2025
ON DECLARING TOURIST DESTINATIONS
Guided by point 2 of part 1 of Article 4 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On Tourism”, the Government of the Republic of Armenia shall hereby decide to:
1. Declare the following settlements of Vayots Dzor Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Areni, Khachik, Gnishik, Arpi, Agarakadzor, Yelpin, Chiva, Rind, Aghavnadzor settlements as “Areni” tourist destination;
(2) Yeghegis, Hermon, Arates, Horbategh, Goghtanik, Artabuynk, Shatin, Hors, Yeghegnadzor, Gladzor, Vernashen, Aghnjadzor and Vardahovit settlements as “Yeghegis” tourist destination;
(3) Jermuk and Gndevaz settlements as “Jermuk” tourist destination.
2. Declare the following of Syunik Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Meghri settlement as “Meghri” tourist destination;
(2) Goris, Khndzoresk settlements and Hin Khndzoresk inhabited area as “Goris” tourist destination;
(3) the city of Sisian, Angeghakot, Shaghat, Balak, Mutsq and Vaghatin settlements, “Shaki Waterfall” Natural Monument, “Zorats Karer inhabited area” Historical-Cultural Reserve and “Vorotnavank” Monastic Complex as “Sisian” tourist destination;
(4) Tatev, Shinuhayr, Halidzor, Khot, Harzhis settlements and Hin Shinuhayr, Hin Halidzor and Hin Khot inhabited areas as “Tatev” tourist destination.
3. Declare the following of Shirak Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Ashotsk, Hartashen, Krasar, Amasia, Darik, Vardaghbyur settlements, Lake Arpi and “Arpi” National Park as “Arpi-Ashotsk” tourist destination;
(2) declare the city of Gyumri as “Gyumri” tourist destination.
4. Declare the following of Tavush Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Dilijan, Haghartsin, Khachardzan, Hovk, Gosh, Aghavnavank, Teghut settlements and “Dilijan” National Park as “Dilijan” tourist destination;
(2) Noyemberyan, Berd and Ijevan communities as “Tavush” tourist destination.
5. Declare the following of Lori Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Alaverdi, Sanahin, Haghpat, Akhtala, Odzun and Ardvi settlements, the monastic complexes of “Sanahin”, “Haghpat”, “Akhtala”, “Surb Hovhannes” of Ardvi, and the churches of Odzun and Bgavor as “Alaverdi” tourist destination;
(2) Vanadzor, Pambak, Debed, Dzoraget, Dsegh, Tumanyan settlements, the monastic complexes of “Hnevank”, “Kobayr”, “Bardzrakash”, “Karasnits Mankants”, “Dsegh”, and Lake of Dsegh Tsover as “Debed Gorge” tourist destination;
(3) Tashir, Stepanavan, Gyulagarak and Lori Berd settlements, as well as the impregnable medieval fortress of “Lori Berd City Site” Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve as “Lori Berd” tourist destination.
6. Declare the following of Kotayk Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Garni, Goght and Geghard settlements as “Garni” tourist destination;
(2) Tsaghkadzor community as “Tsaghkadzor” tourist destination;
(3) Bjni and Arzakan settlements as “Bjni-Arzakan” tourist destination;
(4) Aghavnadzor, Marmarik, Meghradzor, Pyunik, Artavaz and Hankavan settlements as “Hankavan” tourist destination.
7. Declare the following of Gegharkunik Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Drakhtik, Artanish and Shoghakat settlements as “Chambarak” tourist destination;
(2) Kalavan, Ttujur and Dprabak settlements as “Kalavan” tourist destination;
(3) the city of Sevan, Gagarin, Varser, Lchashen, Tsaghkunk, Zovaber, Geghamavan, Ddmashen settlements and the Sevan Peninsula as “Gagarin” tourist destination;
(4) the city of Gavar and city of Martuni, Berdkunk, Noratus, Dzoragyugh, Geghhovit, Madina settlements and “Hayravank” Monastic Complex as “Sevan” tourist destination.
8. Declare the following of Aragatsotn Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Ashtarak, Oshakan, Agarak, Antarut, Aghdzk, Byurakan, Voskevaz, Saghmosavan, Tegher, Oshakan and Ohanavan settlements as “Ashtarak” tourist destination;
(2) Aparan, Tsaghkahovit, Yeghipatrush, Aragats, Hartavan, Geghadzor settlements and Mount Aragats as “Aparan” tourist destination;
(3) Talin, Dashtadem, Mastara, Tsaghkasar, Zovasar, Garnahovit and Karmrashen settlements as “Talin” tourist destination.
9. Declare the following of Ararat Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Hnaberd settlement as “Dvin” tourist destination;
(2) Lusarat settlement, including “Artashat City Site" monument and “Khor Virap” Monastic Complex as “Hin Artashat” tourist destination;
(3) Urtsadzor, Vedi settlements, “Vedi” reservoir and “Tapi” fortress (Gevorg Marzpetuni fortress) as “Vedi” tourist destination.
10. Declare the following of Armavir Marz of the Republic of Armenia:
(1) Vagharshapat settlement as “Etchmiadzin” tourist destination;
(2) Araks, Sardarapat, Metsamor and Taronik settlements, Sardarapat Memorial Complex, “Metsamor” Historical and Archaeological Reserve-Museum and Lake Akna (Ayghr) as “Armavir” tourist destination.
11. Declare the city of Yerevan as “Yerevan” tourist destination.
12. Approve management plans of tourist destinations declared under points 1-11 of this Decision within one year following the selection of a tourist destination management organisation at the marz or local level, from among the tourist destination management organisations qualified under the procedure prescribed by part 3 of Article 19 of the Law “On Tourism”.
13. Repeal Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1064-N of 18 September 2008 “On declaring the city of Jermuk as tourist destination”, Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 848-N of 26 June 2009 “On declaring ‘Tatev’ tourist destination”, Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1222-N of 1 October 2009 “On declaring ‘Northern Gate’ tourist destination”.
14. This Decision shall enter into force on the tenth day following its official promulgation.
